I am a current student in the Sculpture class at my school and we decided to make ceramic sculptures. The tools I had to use were the following: clay slip, sgraffito tool, spray water bottle, wooden board, paintbrushes, and different glazes. We had to make tiny coils of clay and place them on top of each other. I scraped the clay and put a slip on top of them so they can stay together. After I built my little tower of coils, we needed to fire it in the kiln. After it was fired once, I glazed it with multiple different types of glaze to have a different effect. I think that I worked hard and tried my best to make the clay smooth and the glaze even. One of my goals was for the glaze to run down the art piece so it will have a dripping effect. I feel that I showed that well as the colors all mixed together well and I am really happy with the outcome.
